Welcome to Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga, LLP. We are pleased you have chosen us to help you recover from an injury or musculoskeletal problem, and to reduce pain and disability. We offer two convenient locations, our main office in Saratoga Springs as well as the new full service Saratoga Sports Medicine facility located in the town of Malta. Please be assured our medical providers and staff are here to care for you.

Our goal is to provide, the highest quality musculoskeletal care to you and your family and to ensure you have the best experience possible receiving orthopaedic services. We strive to treat every patient as members of our own family.

Our practice offers seven orthopaedic surgeons: Lawrence H. Fein, MD, William T. Byrt, MD, William W. O’Connor, MD, George E. Silver, Jr, MD, John C. Herzog, DO Joseph M. Larosa, MD and Bruce H. Dick, MD, FACSM. These professionals completed medical school and their residency training specifically in orthopaedic surgery. Several also have completed additional fellowship training in sub-specialty areas including hand surgery, back surgery, sports medicine and foot and ankle surgery.

Additionally, our five physician assistants -- Stephen Valenti, RPA-C, Carolyn Shafer, RPA-C, Andrea Vavala, RPA-C, Andrew S. Kearney, RPA-C, Heather LaPoint , MS, NP and Ricky Varone, RPA-C -- are trained to assist our orthopaedic surgeons, and enable this office to schedule appointments more promptly. MaryKay Nichols, NP, MS is a certified Nurse Practitioner who specializes in orthopaedic care and has additional training and qualifications in the treatment of osteoporosis.

The medical staff at Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga, LLP provides you and your family with a full spectrum of services to meet all your orthopaedic care needs.

For patient convenience, in our Saratoga office, Todd Jorgenson, MD, a physiatrist and Shawn Jorgenson, MD, a physiatrist (rehabilitation medicine physician who treats musculoskeletal and nervous system injuries non-surgically); Richard Jones, DPM, a podiatrist; Saratoga Physical Therapy Associates; and Sampson Orthotics and Prosthetics are located in our one-story, fully accessible building. We offer state of the art digital radiography, fluoroscopy and dexascan.

At Orthopaedic Associates of Saratoga, LLP, we believe the more you know the better we can help you. We offer seminars, video, printed and Internet-based educational materials.

Our practice manages patients who have acute injuries, which often require urgent attention. We always try to be on time and accommodating. We appreciate your patience if the physician you are scheduled to see is attending to an emergency. We respect your time – if your appointment is delayed, please consider seeing another member of our medical staff, a physician extender, or use the time to compose a list of questions for the doctor. You are also welcome to reschedule your appointment.

You will be provided with the business card of a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) who will help coordinate your care (schedule tests or surgery, if necessary and respond to your insurance company’s requests, if required). If you have questions, the PCA is your personal link to your physician.
