New Extremity MRI

About the ONI High Field Dedicated Extremity MRI System

Orthopaedic Associates now has an extremity specialty MRI unit located in our Saratoga Springs office at 5 Care Lane. You can expect a non-threatening, non-claustrophobic MRI experience that will create scans of extremely high quality.

Traditionally, if an MRI was required to determine the nature and extent of an injury, your entire body was subjected to a full body MRI for injuries to your foot, hand, forearm or lower leg. With the ONI OrthOne, the only part of your body to go into the magnet is the part being scanned.

The unit can perform lower extremity scans from the toes to the knees and upper extremity scans from the fingers to the elbow. This is a truly open MRI system with scans conducted while you sit in a comfortable chair.

The OrthOne is a high field MRI that produces excellent quality images with relatively short scan times. You can leave immediately after the scan is complete. A Radiologist will review the images and a detailed report will be sent to your physician.

Having the MRI in our office has greatly reduced wait time in scheduling and allowed for more rapid review of the images by your physician resulting in faster implementation of care.

Follow up procedures should be discussed with your physician in regards to obtaining your MRI results.
